Wash hands often. Don’t rub your nose or eyes if your hands have been contaminated. Teach your kids to wash their hands often so no harmful virus can thrive there.- Routinely clean and disinfect surface, toys, and objects that younger children may put in their mouths.
- Speed up recovery from diarrhea by giving your child re-hydration salts. These will replenish lost all-important electrolytes.
- Avoid mosquito bites by using a mosquito repellent spray or lotion on your body and clothes and stay in well-screened areas. Use a mosquito net if possible.
- Don’t leave any containers of stagnant water anywhere in your home where dengue mosquitoes can breed.
- Keep your surroundings clean at all times.
- Lastly, don’t forget to have your kids immunized regularly so that they won’t get sick and will have productive school year.
