Rumors concerning “Twilight” heartthrob Robert Pattinson began to make the rounds, earlier this year. Sources said that, while truly handsome, the British actor had a serious hygiene problem that made him a pain to be around. Now, Pattinson himself confirms that report in a new interview with British magazine.
A lot of fans came to his defense, saying on all dedicated forums that it was impossible for such a good-looking, educated and well-behaved young man not to wash himself to the point that people around him would take notice – and offense with the prevailing aroma.
Then it turns out that the report was accurate from the start, with the actor spilling the beans when answering a question from the magazine as to whether it’s true he rarely changes his clothes. “Yeah, kind of. Like, these jeans are a few days old, but the top is probably fresh because it gets to the point where even I can’t stand the air around me. I don’t know, my personal hygiene – it’s so disgusting! Really it’s just that I have very few clothes that I like and I’m travelling all the time, so I can’t really get any more.” Pattinson says.
Still, the magazine notes, the actor says that without even thinking that some might condemn him for it. He’s not arrogant and doesn’t think too much of himself, the editor points out. In fact, if anything, Robert Pattinson is one of the most down-to-earth guys around at the moment, let alone considering the incredible popularity he’s been enjoying ever since the release of the first “Twilight” film. Speaking of which, in the same interview, Robert also admits he’s having a very hard time coping with fame.
