Spears Conservatorship Extended
Reports started pouring in earlier this month, that Britney Spears was moving towards having the conservatorship over her person brought to an end, having already proved that she was now well enough to be able to handle her personal matters. The conservatorship over her as a business would still stand, though. The latest development in the issue brings a closure different from what Spears wanted, TMZ informs.
The assigned judge on the case has determined that the conservatorship over Britney will be extended indefinitely, with her father Jamie still in charge of everything. Another hearing has been scheduled for January 14, when Britney’s attorneys will have another chance at trying to break free and make of the singer a person capable of handling her own finances, at least in terms of personal expenses, if not in those of her business career.
“Britney Spears will remain under the watchful eye of her father – now that a judge has ruled to extend her conservatorship. The judge didn’t specify how long the conservatorship will remain in place, but lawyers involved in the matter, they expect it to last somewhere between six months and a year,” TMZ says after speaking with people close to the matter.
Most of the fans must know that Britney Spears has long ceased to be in charge of her finances, regardless if they’re personal expenses or business transactions. The decision to have her put under a conservatorship was made after she showed undeniable signs that she was no longer able to see to her business, which also included surrounding herself by people whom her father later described as “leeches.”
