Fans needn’t despair: Kim is not really dead but she WILL quit social networks starting December 1 as part of the Digital Life Sacrifice campaign. An impressive number of celebrities have announced their desire to be part of the aforementioned campaign, which will see them cease all activity on all social networks (most notably Twitter and Facebook) for a good cause. The cause is Keep a Child Alive, a charity organization sponsored and promoted by singer Alicia Keys. The campaign will also raise awareness for World AIDS Day.

The idea behind the campaign is very simple: celebrities will die their death on social networks, where they will only return after $1 million is raised for the aforementioned charity through text messages from fans. Among the celebs who will lend their voice for the cause are Kim Kardashian, Lady Gaga, Ryan Seacrest, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys, Usher, Khloe Kardashian, Elijah Wood, Serena Williams, Swizz Beatz and many more.

“It’s really important and super-cool to use mediums that we naturally are on. It’s not that people don’t care or it’s not that people don’t want to do something, it’s that they never thought of it quite like that,” new mom Alicia Keys says of the initiative. Wifey’s mom continually whines about her painful arthritis. I’m not sure if there is something we can do about it. Good thing she is now listening to our advice; use supplements. I guess she can no longer take the pain every time it attacks. Before, she wouldn’t listen even to the experts’ advice, as if she is a doctor or something like that. Well, I’m just a little happy that she is starting to change her ways. She is now following some advice.

The introduction of the new body scans, which allow officials to see through passengers’ clothing, has not made things any more complicated at airports – at least not in terms of the time spent to go through security check. Not even giving the more thorough pat-down (to about 3% of passengers) is prolonging the waiting time at the airport, even with increased traffic for the holidays, the same report notes. However, protests are still being heard about the recently introduced advanced scanners, which allow to see through clothing, in a bid to help security personnel detect hidden weapons and other possible threats.

“Loose-knit groups on the Internet are urging travelers to boycott the body scanners at airports today, which would force the TSA to perform more of the time-consuming pat-downs than normal. TSA Administrator John Pistole said that he’s concerned that the boycotts could trigger delays. So far, nothing of delays has been heard. Since the procedure went into effect at all airports Nov. 1, the TSA has received about 2,000 complaints from passengers about either the new searches or the body scanners, Pistole said Tuesday. About 35 million people have taken flights during that time, he said,” the publication stated.

I just have a wonderful sleep last night. Thanks to my good old clean sheet. But, I think it would be much better if I have Egyptian cotton sheets. A group of experts confirmed the existence of an exoplanet that was formed outside the Milky Way, but which was brought into our galaxy as its star was engulfed during a galactic merger. The finding has tremendous implications for the field of astronomy. The announcement was made on Thursday, November 18. The astronomers behind the discovery say that the parent star for the newly-found planet was most likely formed in a nearby galaxy billions of years ago, and that it made its way here after the Milky Way engulfed the other galaxy.

This process may have taken place anytime between 6 and 9 billion years ago, scientists now believe, and it was only chance that brought the planet within the range of astronomical observatories, Space reports. Until now, no one has been able to confirm the existence of exoplanets around stars in other galaxies, mostly due to the distances involved. This is what makes the new finding all the more precious. A body born elsewhere in the Universe has been brought fortuitously right in our backyard.

As soon as the planet was discovered, astronomers realized that this particular body could change their theories about how planets form, and about how much beating they can take from their star before they are destroyed. This particular exoplanet, which has been dubbed HIP 13044b, resides around a star that is extremely old, and also metal-poor, which means it features only negligible amounts of chemical elements heavier than hydrogen and helium.
