According to recent research, scientists have confirmed that so-called burying beetles coat their young’s food with an antibacterial substance to guarantee their survival. Burying beetles lay their eggs on the carcasses of small animals, such as birds and rodents. The researchers show that without the anti-microbial secretions the young fail to gain weight and die.

Most animals try to do the best for their young, but burying beetles, in the genus Nicrophorus, which are found in temperate regions in Europe and North America, are truly doting parents. As a prospective parent, burying beetles find a dead animal, such as a mouse or bird, and roll the carcass into a ball. They then bury the carcass, hiding it from predators that might eat it or fancy it for a nursery for their own young – no small feat for a beetle that is only 15mm long. The beetles then lay their eggs in the flesh of the animal and wait to welcome their young into the world.

Now scientists from the University of Manchester have worked out what makes these secretions so good at killing germs. The researchers’ extracted secretions from the anal glands of a species of burying beetle called Nicrophorus vespilloides, and showed that when this substance was added to bacterial cells, they were destroyed. Scientist suspecting that they were dealing with an enzyme that “chops up microbial cell walls”, investigated and confirmed that the secretions was rich in lysozymes. These are anti-microbial enzymes, and a common component of animals’ immune systems. Lysozymes are also secreted in mammals’ breast milk and in human tears.

Oh my! Everyone is just so excited about our trip. I’ve been receiving lots of goodbyes and good luck wish from friends and families. It’s the same thing for wifey. In fact, her mom is too excited that she wants to send us to the airport. But, she needs to fly here to do that, which she is willing to do just to see her daughter. Well, I guess it can’t be helped.

However, I’m not planning on staying there for a long time. After maybe five to ten years, I will have sufficient money to start my own business so I will come home by then. I envisioned myself managing a computer shop or a restaurant. I just hope Aldelo System is still available by that time in an upgraded manner.

Anyway, speaking of system wifey told me about it after finding somewhere in the web. Anyway, as for me I guess I will be sharing some good stuff. Given my current weight, I’m somewhat sure that I lost some pounds. Isn’t that wonderful? It’s true! No matter how I look at myself in the mirror, I lost the huge belly fat I used to have a few months before. But, my tummy is not that flat yet. It can use a lot of help until I can see a six-pack abs.

Basically, there are two types of toilet clogs. The most common is a clog that simply prevents the waste and water from going down the drain. The second, and more distressing, is a clog that causes sewage to back up into a bathtub or other fixture when the toilet is flushed. The common clog usually indicates a blockage in the pipe below or immediately adjacent to the toilet. If your toilet is clogged but not backing up elsewhere, don’t try to flush it or it may overflow. Just follow these simple tips:

• Remove the lid from the tank and raise the flapper valve to let a little water pass through so you can see whether the toilet is indeed clogged.
• If it is, first try plunging with a bell-shaped toilet plunger. Wearing rubber gloves, place the plunger’s head over the center of the toilet drain hole. Then rapidly push the plunger’s handle up and down to force air and water into the pipe, creating suction to free the clog. If waste water drains from the toilet, you’ve probably managed to break the clog loose. Gradually pour about a gallon of water from a bucket into the toilet to flush it.
• If this doesn’t do the job, you can attempt to snake out the toilet with a closet auger, which will reach down about 3 feet. Work the end of it down into the drain hole, turning the handle clockwise until the cable won’t go any further. Then push it repeatedly to dislodge the clog. If it seems to have hooked onto the obstacle, try pulling it out. If it seems balky, work it back and forth carefully so as not to scratch or break the porcelain. If you are able to break through the clog, plunge the toilet again.
• If your plumbing system has a clog that is causing sewage to back up into other fixtures when a toilet is flushed, you can attempt to snake out the main drain pipes yourself with a long drain auger. Inexpensive drain augers are available for purchase, or you can rent a high-powered model from a tool rental supplier. If this is more than you want to attempt, call a plumber or drain-clearing service.

Oh gosh! I’m really excited over this new venture we are taking on. It’s really risky, adventurous and somewhat wild. It’s the only choice we have for the moment. It sure gives both wifey some sleepless nights. If successful I might be able to wear my nurses uniforms again. Well, that’s part of the plan as well.

For now, I’m already looking at different nursing uniforms in the web where I found Marcus uniform. Lucky for me, they ship internationally so I won’t have to worry about it. It’s really a challenge finding men’s scrubs that are comfortable and masculine. I’ve been through that experience three years ago. That’s why as early as now I’m starting my search so I won’t face difficulty when it’s time to make a purchase.

Today, wifey and I are celebrating our monthsary. Actually, some people find it corny to celebrate the event monthly; some prefers to celebrate annually. But, we like it this way because it helps us remind the beginning of our relationship. Like I said today is special, so I want to make it really special by giving wifey something significant.

ATTITUDE

If your business requires lots of email contact make sure you organize that properly. You should set up a folder for each contact and keep important correspondence while deleting what you don’t need. SCHEDULE

Develop a schedule that works for you, your family (or “significant others”) and your business. When you allot a block of time for work then use that time for work. Equally important is to schedule time for your other commitments – family time, self education ( reading, listening and viewing), “health time” (exercise, cooking and eating), and leisure time. During these other times don’t work. After all if one of the reasons to work from home is to spend more time with your family then you don’t want your working at home time to consume your family time.

You are working for yourself and your schedule (by your choice) is your “boss”. When you have people calling you or dropping around unexpectedly or maybe out-of-town visitors may want to catch up with you then you need to make a choice. Are you committed to your own business success? What will be your choice in these situations? Only you can decide what is important to you.

In a family environment you may need to negotiate with your partner and children to have your business time agreed upon, during which you will not be interrupted. Put this schedule prominently somewhere so all family members are aware of your work schedule.

KEEP GOOD RECORDS

One thing that many home based businesses forget to do is to keep proper records. These are very important especially if you are ever audited by the IRS! This may involve a consultation with a tax advisor who can let you know about the optimal way to set up your financial records and what records need to be kept. Your advisor will also recommend record keeping systems and you can find out what software may simplify this aspect of your business. Last few weeks, dad was able to get a fairly nice offer; really significant deal. I know it because I’m the one who does the job, which is always the case. I thought he told mom about it, but surprisingly he did not. He kept it a secret from her. So, I accidentally created a little rift between the two. It’s not my intention to do so.

After a little while, dad called me and informs me of his plan. One of it is changing the floor tiles. He said our house needs a little upgrade. In addition, he also plans to buy simplicity zero turn mowers so he won’t need to manually cut the grass in our yard. It’s been a long time since he made this plan. He is just waiting for the right timing and money. Then, out of nowhere he said he will share a little amount to me. Of course, he made the offer so I will accept it. It makes me feel guilty for accidentally telling mom about it. Good thing they are already in good terms the day before he made that call.
