After partying last Friday night with her boyfriend Cy Waits, socialite, actress and singer Paris Hilton was arrested on charges of cocaine possession in Las Vegas, after Waits was detained for driving under the influence. Though this is not the first time that Paris gets in trouble with the law, it is undeniably her most serious (alleged) offense, having been booked previously for driving on a suspended license, marijuana possession and one count of DUI.

The arrest took place late Friday night, as Paris and Waits were presumably driving home after a night out on the town. Hilton was in the passenger seat when the arrest took place. Police pulled the car over and arrested Waits for driving under the influence, TMZ says. He was drugged, not drunk, the same media outlet mentions.

“Paris was the passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over outside the Wynn Hotel. The driver was arrested for DUI (drug-related, not alcohol) and when cops searched Hilton, they found her in possession of a controlled substance. Police say tests revealed the substance to be cocaine,” TMZ reports.

Supposedly this must be one of the biggest, most mediated events  in showbiz but, it seems, Lindsay Lohan was not at all warming up to the idea of having an entire world do the “walk of shame” as she was being released from Lynwood. The star was just now sprung free from prison, ushered into a van and taken to the UCLA Medical Center, where she’s to remain 3 months as per court orders, E! Online informs.

“Lohan (and her hair extensions) managed to make it through a sojourn at Lynwood’s Century Regional Detention Facility, serving 14 days of a 90-day sentence for a probation violation in a DUI case. Lohan was sprung at 1:35 a.m. Monday, although she managed to elude dozens of camera crews outside. Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesman Steve Whitmore told the assembled masses that Lohan was ushered to rehab in an unmarked van. Not that she had time for teary reunions or fab photo ops…” E! writes.

“Los Angeles Superior Court Marsha Revel had ordered that Lohan report to a treatment facility within 24 hours rather than allow her time to unwind before fulfilling the part of her sentence that’s actually going to last for 90 days. ‘Per court order she has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center,’ Whitmore said. ‘She is now under the supervision of the L.A. County Probation Department. This concludes her custody. We are done. Thank you all for behaving. We can all go home now’,” the e-zine further says.

They’ve been rumored to be dating for about three years but, other than putting in a couple of appearances together as an item, they rarely talked about their relationship. True to their past behavior, actors Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have just gotten married in secret, a spokesperson confirms for Us Magazine.

“Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem have wed, her rep tells Us Magazine. The two tied the knot in a small ceremony, attended only by close family members, earlier this month at a friend’s house in the Bahamas. Cruz, 36, wore a John Galliano gown. She and Bardem, 41, have been romantically linked since 2007,” Us Magazine writes. As of now, these are the only details available on the surprise ceremony. However, chances are the couple will release a few photos of themselves on the big day, word in the blogosphere has it.

“‘He’s a friend and the best actor in the world,’ she once told reporters of her Vicky Cristina Barcelona costar. She has mostly been mum about their relationship. Last year, when David Letterman tried to grill her about Bardem, she replied: ‘I don’t feel comfortable talking about my private life in public… I’ve been here a few times with you, you know I’m tough. One thing I don’t do, I don’t lie about my personal life. It’s sacred to me. It’s my life. But I don’t give details about it because I am allergic to that’,” the same mag further writes, giving two instances of how Penelope tried to keep her relationship out of the tabloids and the media in general.

Britney Spears fans must have been desperately waiting for news like this: the August 2010 issue of Cosmopolitan magazine brings a very cute and fun interview with the singer, together with a gorgeous series of portraits. Made to look like a school questionnaire, the Q&A tackles topics like her boys, her fashion style and, of course, her love life and being a star.

As scans of the magazine posted on OhNoTheyDidn’t show, the interview is not the standard type, the kind one gets to read in every other magazine. In keeping with Britney’s playful manner, it is constructed like a school questionnaire, where she gets to fill out the answers herself. To make it even more convincing, the interview looks as if Spears herself actually took the time to write her own answers, which is unlikely to be the case but is cute nonetheless.

Moreover Britney reveals being stalked by paparazzi is risk she willingly took when she started off in showbiz, how she gets agitated before a performance but tries to walk it off, what she looks for in a man (personality and the ability to make her laugh), and how much she values the opinion of her family. She also talks about being a mom and which was the biggest challenge she had to face in the new role and what she makes of her longevity as a pop star – as well as one piece of advice she’d give a young artist who’s seek her help.

According to the latest The Sun news website, one of Britney Spears’ bodyguards is thinking of going to court over claims that she seriously harassed him, making moves on him and putting pressure on him to comply with her advances. A friend of the former cop, Spears would always walk around Fernando Flores without clothes, making it more than clear that she’d taken a fancy on him and planned on acting on it.

“She was always giving him the come on and he felt if he didn’t reciprocate he could lose his job. He finally handed in his notice last week and is considering legal action. Working for Britney is tough. She’s a nightmare to deal with and her emotions are totally out of control. She runs round the house [nude] and yelling at staff. All her guards knew they could be removed if they looked at her the wrong way. Unfortunately for Fernando, she took a liking to him, so he was under more pressure than most. He wanted to be a good security guard and look after her but the situation became unbearable,” the friend dishes for The Sun.

Over the weekend, word got out that Britney Spears’ trip to Disneyland on Mother’s Day was due to her wanting to spend some time away from the paparazzi with her two adorable children and her boyfriend Jason Trawick. The Sun has another story today for Britney’s absence, claiming she actually wanted to do some research, having decided she wanted to have her body frozen.

“The eccentric star wants her body preserved in liquid nitrogen so future generations can enjoy her dance routines in red plastic catsuits. Britney is so enamored by the idea – ‘cryogenic’ freezing – that she’s investing in a firm specializing in it. The Alcor Life Extension Foundation is one of the oldest companies of its kind, founded in 1972. On its website, the Arizona-based firm gives its aim as: ‘Using ultra-cold temperature to preserve human life with the intent of restoring good health when technology becomes available to do so’,” The Sun writes.

“Brit gets these obsessions and this is the latest. It started when someone told her Walt Disney had been preserved by cryogenics to be revived in the future. That was a myth but it got her researching the foundation and she became convinced it was worth a shot. Brit found the whole thing so interesting she spent most of her Mother’s Day trip to Disneyland researching the subject on the internet while a nanny took the boys round the park. She looked into having her ashes turned into diamonds after she is gone but settled on the chance of getting to live in the future,” an unnamed pal dishes for the tabloid.
