For many people, losing weight isn’t the really tricky part but keeping it off. Here are some tried and tested strategies for maintaining your weight loss.

  • Continue to eat a balanced, lower fat diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables
  • Don’t avoid any foods, just watch portion sizes and limit the amount of certain foods
  • Have three regular meals a day at regular times (starting with breakfast), and fewer snacks
  • Eat out occasionally, but limit fast food
  • Sit down to eat your meals, take time over them and pay attention to what you’re eating
  • Keep ‘self-monitoring’ to stay conscious of your new eating and activity habits

Teeth Whitening Gives You A Winning Smile

As we all agree that a smile is worth more than money. It can create magic. But discolored teeth can hamper this magic. So often we get anxious about our bad teeth, especially when we see that our teeth are losing their shine and white look. But not anymore, science has helped us to solve this problem by providing us the technique of artificially whitening our teeth, called Tooth whitening.

At our early age we possess a beautiful setting of white teeth, but as we grow older our teeth start darkening. This happens due to many reasons- changes in the mineral structure of the teeth, by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs, and tobacco (for smokers).

The procedure utilizes some oxidizing agents like hydrogen peroxide which breaks down to hydrogen mono peroxide inside the mouth, in order to lighten the shade of the tooth. This agent penetrates into the enamel and oxidizes the stain deposits, in course of time the underlying dentin layer gets bleached. There are two ways for this bleaching. In the process called Office Bleach, a high concentration of these oxidizing agents is applied for a short time. It gives quick results but there remains a danger of chemical burns of the soft tissues. So some precautions are taken while applying this method. A light cured protective layer is used which is painted on the gums, with care so as to protect the soft tissues.

under-15 yrs old should not drink alcohol

Parents have been warned that under-15 yrs old should not drink alcohol even under supervision. Chief medical officer Dr Tony Jewell issue new guidance, that alcohol harmed a child’s physical development. “The younger people start drinking, the greater the impact on their health,” he said.

The challenge was to accept children would do what they were told not to and to protect them as they did. The new guidance, You, Your Children and Alcohol, aims to help protect children and young people from the risks linked to alcohol consumption.

The Welsh Assembly Government quotes research which shows that 40% of Welsh 15-year-olds drink alcohol on a weekly basis, with 20% having been drunk for the first time at 13 or under. A spokesman said a public awareness campaign would begin in July and a video booth was available on the assembly government’s stand at the Urdd Eisteddfod to gauge young people’s views on alcohol.

my goal for now

Wifey laughed when I showed her the pictures I took during my week long vacation. She is amused seeing the real big me. Honestly, it is difficult to noticed weigh gain or loss when you are with the person every day. It is much easier to determine if you haven’t seen that person for a long time.

Well, I also have difficulty distinguishing my size either. It never occurred to me that my abdominal fat is becoming disturbing. Based on research people with apple-shaped bodies (fattest in the abdomen) have a greater risk of heart disease and diabetes than those with pear shapes (fattest in the hips, buttocks, and thighs). So losing them first is the one of the most important steps you can take to stay healthy for life.

Now, my goal is to find the diets that work for me. Our body differs from each other. So, my diet plan may not perfectly work for wifey, vice versa. But, the most important thing is that no one person will stay the same if they don’t eat a lot.

Effects of Eating Disorders

Basically, the mental effects can be associated with different levels of anxiety (from moderate to very severe), depression, and difficulty to focus on tasks, low span of attention, lethargy or impulsivity and distortion of thoughts.

One of the very specific effects of eating disorders is a distorted body image when people see a wrong picture of themselves and others. This mental problem is called “broken eye syndrome”. This is when the sufferer sees in the mirror a much fatter reflection of themselves then they actually are. And when they look at other people they judge them according to the person’s weight and body looks. Other people can also look bigger to them then the person really is.

Spiritual effects of eating disorders can be associated with loss of self-identity or insight, inability to maintain healthy relationship with people and loss of coping strategies.

perfect for smokers

According to the news, the number of smoker in the country has increased as compared to the previous years. But, the most shocking of all is that the number shows an increased in users to youngsters. These kids may not be aware of the harmful effects of using tobacco in the body. Probably they start smoking because they are used to the secondary smoke from other smokers and their body is already looking for a smoke.

I guess it is really difficult to stop smoking. According to some of my friends who have been a smoker, they tried. But, most often than not they will come back and use cigarette. I guess they haven’t found the best alternative to smoking and that is the use of electronic or e cigarette. It looks like a traditional cigarettes and are quite similar in taste. But it doesn’t have all those harmful effects of smoking that makes it perfect for smokers. It does not burn tobacco and it has flow censor which get activated when you inhale it. The flow censors release water vapors that contain nicotine and propylene glycol that offers the flavor of actual cigarettes. So, they will enjoy the feeling of smoking without the risk of smoking real cigarettes.
