unwanted entry!

Keep your home safe from unwanted entry. More often than not, robbers break into a home when there’s no one around. Because this gives them enough time to search for and cart away as much loot as possible. The thieves enter a home after checking for vulnerable openings, such as a door with flimsy lock or a forgotten open window. Here’s a reminder if robber get their hands in your house.

When your home is robbed in your absence, don’t touch anything in order to preserve the scene of the crime. Its better if you do not enter your home alone before help arrives. Immediately call the police to process the crime scene, take fingerprint marks, and interview people in order to make tracking the criminals easier. If you have installed Security Camera in your home it would be easier to get a look at the criminals.

However, worst comes to worst when robbers are bash enough to invade your home while you are there, do not fight back, but be alert. Robbers can either force their way in, or pretend to be beggars or injured. Follow their instructions, give them what they want, and do not stare just take glimpse at their features, or look down and memorize their shoes. Burglars may change clothes but seldom change shoes or slippers. Not fighting back decreases your risk of getting physical injury or death. Never try to intimidate them. When they are gone, this is the time to call the nearest police station and ask for assistance.

shocked by your electric blankie?

Tired of getting shocked by your electric blankie? Well, It’s not the only reason electric blankets make our hair stand on end – they also produce electric and magnetic fields that are potential health hazards. Unplug your electric, and either: A) cozy up with a buddy; or B) get an organic or recycled blanket to zap yourself warm.

What good benefits you get? First, no heated health controversies. The jury’s still out, but electric and magnetic fields, like the ones produced by cell phones may be connected to diseases like cancer.Second, saving electricity, no calculus required: Using a nonelectric blanket uses no energy whatsoever (unplugging your electric saves about $20 per year on your bills). Third, getting toasty…not roasty! Electric blankets are responsible for thousands of fires each year. Lastly, organic and recycled fabrics are easier on the earth than conventional ones, since they forgo pesticides and the production of new materials. Hope this can remind you guys!

oven to work efficiently

Did you know that a clean microwave oven heats food more efficiently? The reason behind it is that residue from food spatters attract microwave energy. So, instead of heating food, the microwave burns the residue and causes unpleasant odors.

To prevent spatters always cover the food you heat. By doing so, you will also save time because you don’t have to clean it up later.

If there are spills, clean it up immediately. Use a cloth dampened with water and dish detergent. For more heavy-duty cleaning however, mix 4 tablespoons baking soda and 4 tablespoons water to form a paste. Apply the paste to the inside of the oven and let it sit for 15 minutes before wiping off with a damp cloth. You can also use a mixture of lemon juice and salt as a substitute. Another option is to steam-clean your microwave. Just put a cup of water inside the microwave and let it boil for two to three minutes to soften up the grease build-up. Wipe off the grease using a clean, damp sponge.

To keep it looking like new, always wipe the exterior. Use a cloth dampened with water and mild liquid detergent. But, do not allow water to seep into ventilation openings. Do not scourers, caustic cleaners, or abrasive items.

clean small room!

Having a small room can pose storage problems. However, there is always a solution for it by maximizing surface area. One of the quick access solutions is to mount the racks on the side of the bookshelf. You can use materials like wood metal or fabric that go best with your area. In addition, try to sort regularly to avoid ugly pile-ups. Keep the most recent materials on display, and store the rest in a covered box or a neat stack under the coffee table or at your basement. Or you can have those really old ones, sold at junk shops. Now, you no longer have to worry about where to put the magazines or newspapers.

kitchen smells in your hair?

Being in the kitchen for a long time can take its toll on your hair especially if you have a long one. But, you can’t take a bath every after you cook your food. The easiest way to remove kitchen smells from your hair is by smoking it with some scented candles or incense sticks. All you have to do is light up a candle or incense and set it down nearby. Make sure that whenever you pass by, fan the smoke your way and into your hair.

time of gift-giving!

Christmas season is the time of gift-giving. Wrapping gifts is a must. So, don’t limit yourself to just one pattern per present. Consider layering two or more papers of different colors, patterns and textures for large gifts,. To achieve the look, start by wrapping your box with one paper it could be either solid or a pattern. Then, cute wide bands from a second, complementary paper and using double-sided tape, wrap each band across the top and down two sides. Choose creative combos such as green wrap with blue marbled bands, or a red matte wrap with white embossed bands. Or, splurge on bands made of elegant, lacy paper. For a very special present like replica watches for your partner you can add a pleated look. Just cut three bands of complementary paper, and then neatly overlap them.

room filled with texture!

To create a room, texture is of great importance. Although it’s not as flashy as pattern or color. Just for example, imagine a space where everything is smooth and shiny, from the glass coffee table to the leather sofa and gleaming wood floor. Well it’s not exactly a place where you’d like to linger, is it? Now imagine a sofa covered in soft chenille, scattered woven-linen pillows, beside a carved wood side table, atop a rough area rug, nice tv furniture, in short, an intriguing, tactile mix. To bring texture home, simply choose things that make you want to tough them.

hotel like bathroom!

Keep your handy essentials beside your faucets. Choose luxury looking Grohe faucets to add hotel like feeling. Keep often used toiletries and accessories nearby. If you are short on space, small shelving units are available in various finishes. Glass jars and canisters keep your essentials clean, and they’re pretty to look at too. Quality bath accessories can add to the feel of luxury. Soft and fluffy towels, silky soaps and a baby light cologne-scented room spray can heighten relaxation.

make a weekly menu!

Limit trips to the grocery, cut down on your prep time, and serve a week full of delicious and nutritious meals. Keep dishes interesting. Use chicken, fish, seafood, vegetable, rice and pasta cooked in different ways such as fried, baked, grilled, boiled, braised, and steamed. Try out at least one new dish a week.

Keep meals healthy and simple. For breakfast, try pancakes and fruit shake; chocolate oatmeal and apples; cereals, fruit and milk; banana muffins and hot chocolate; yogurt, cheese and hot bread. Have at least two sets of 5 to 6 combo breakfast meal and rotate this on a weekly period. Jot down your grocery list. Categorize items into fresh produce, dairy, meat/fish, canned/bottled, etc. Have a grocery day and stick to it.

However, as we get older we need detoxification to avoid diseases. This will flush dangerous toxins, cleanse and purify system, and increase vitality and energy.

Your book nook

Even a reading nook can use some accessorizing. First, a side table for keeping you safe from hot coffee spills. Or a place for your book before taking a cat nap on the arm chair. Remember, you need proper place for your glass to avoid breaking it. Use accessories to bring the space to life like a potted plant, work of art or souvenirs from family vacations. Choose whatever strikes your fancy.

Organize your reading materials by category. Group together cookbooks, and keep these separated from your novels, and so on. The idea is to group the books in a way that makes sense for your purpose that could mean by genre, author, or even by size. Keep your magazines separated too. Once you’ve got everything sorted you can start filling the shelves. The way you arrange your books, knickknacks, and photos on each shelf can add appealing visual element in your room.

Don’t think you need to store all your books vertically – stacking some horizontally can add visual interest. Arrange books so that all the spines run along the same line at the front of the bookshelf. Don’t push them back of the shelf.

You can also add a vase or bowl that can create a dramatic effect, and serve as storage for smaller odds and ends. If you have basket or bowl that’s just above eye level, it can be full of stuff but nobody will see it.
