I just have a wonderful sleep last night. Thanks to my good old clean sheet. But, I think it would be much better if I have Egyptian cotton sheets. For sure it feels a lot softer and comfortable to sleep at, just like sleeping in a five-star hotel. Unfortunately, I haven’t done that yet. I just had a little visit in those hotels when my sister checked-in to them.
Basically, Egyptian cotton is classified as extra-long staple cotton because it ranges in length from 1 1/2 inches to 2 1/4 inches while most other cottons are about half their size. Because of that length, it can be spun into very fine yarns which are softer, lustrous, stronger and more durable than their shorter counterparts. It is also highly absorbent.
When doing shopping for sheets and bedding, look for the percentage of Egyptian cotton used. 100% Egyptian cotton will be of a more superior quality than bedding made with some inferior cotton blends. The second thing to look is the thread count. A good quality thread count starts around 200, but as the thread count rises, the quality of the fabric also rises.

I guess there is nothing wrong having to go through several home designs once in a while. I think I mentioned somewhere in this blog before about my intentions of building my own dream house. Well, I have been planning for it for a long time already, so I guess it will be a bad thing to make a mistake.
One of the things I usually search is the kitchen design. Both wifey and I love this place as we love food that is why we want to have a perfect kitchen. It would not be a bother to compare different kitchen sinks like the Kohler kitchen sinks. I find wide selections of this sinks that looks durable, high quality and elegant at low prices.
Oh well, it is good to start early. At least I already have an idea of how my future house will look like.

I’ve long used baking soda and white vinegar to keep my kitchen and bathroom drains clear and fresh smelling. I just put a teaspoon or less of baking soda into the drain and then pour in about a tablespoon of vinegar. I must admit that I am the kind of cook who rarely measures anything, and the same is true for these proportions, so feel free to experiment to find what works best in your sinks. Start small, though the combination of baking soda and vinegar causes an active fizzling and bubbling. In fact, that bubbling process is how you can tell if the box of baking soda you’ve had around forever is still good. Just follow the directions above. Your soda is still good if it bubbles away merrily.
Speaking of drains, if your drain is clogged, you can try using a lot more baking soda. One recipe is to pour a cup of baking soda down the drain, then a cup of vinegar. Wait a few minutes, or longer, and then run the hot water tap and see if you have cleared the drain. It could take overnight.
Another well-known use of baking soda is to keep an open box in the refrigerator to neutralize odors. Because baking soda cuts smells, it can also be put in the bottom tray of an oven-type electric toaster, to reduce burnt smells. Another smell-removing cleaning tip is to put baking soda into bottles or jars that milk has left a smell in.

Wood floors can look beautiful in your home, but when they are in need of repair they can make your home look awful. Many people think that maintaining and repairing wood floors that have seen better days is an overwhelming task that is just too much to take on. Luckily, it doesn’t have to be. Wood floor repair can be a fairly simple process as long as you proceed with a well thought out plan.
You might be looking at your scratched and dull floor and thinking of all the work involved with moving out all the furniture and then trying to work one of those sanders. Thinking that your inexperience with the sander could cause you to ruin the floor altogether. Unless your floor is too far gone, with proper care, your wood floor repair does not have to turn into a major job. In most cases, you can simply fill in the minor scratches or shallow gouges without getting into a major refinishing job. You will need a few tools and supplies to get started, however.
If your floor has a polyurethane finish, but doesn’t look so great because it is all scratched up, you may be able to bring it back to its former luster with some polyurethane finish that matches (or as near as you can match) what is on your floor. Use a small paint brush and dab the polyurethane onto the areas that are scratched and any areas where the finish has worn off. Use a clean cloth to buff out the polyurethane before it dries. This can help with small, scratched areas and can make them blend in with the floor.

Having insects inside the house is the greatest enemy of wifey. She has a sensitive skin that easily reacts to insect bites like flea and ants. Both fleas are indeed a problem. Even I can’t stand their presence. They bite you for a second and get off before even killing one. I’m not pretty sure where and how they get into the house. But, they are in and it’s making us really uncomfortable. There is only one thing to solve the problem and that is to call for a pest control service.

I hate to admit that I will go home unsuccessful. Things did not turn out as planned. So, rather than staying for a long time in a foreign place with so many uncertainties, I would prefer to go back to my place and be with wifey. It is a bad journey, but it’s worth a try. At least I won’t have to continually ask myself so many what ifs. However, I will surely go back. But I will make sure the second time will be a success.
Anyway, my plans of purchasing my own home might be pushed further. I won’t be able to fulfill it for now. But, I will hold on to it until I get it. For now, I will just keep on looking on sites like betterbathrooms.com. Keeping myself updated with the latest and high quality home furnishing will motivate me to work more.
Like I said somewhere in this blog before, bathroom can help the entire house look better. It is also the best place to relax and sooth away the stress of the day. That’s why it is important to continually check new designs and styles to get the best of it. All I need is a lot of patience for now. I’m not pretty sure how long it would take me, but I am sure it will happen.
As wallpaper ages, it can tear, its edges can work loose, and bubbles may appear beneath it. In many cases repair is possible, but in other cases the only solution is to patch or replace the damaged wallpaper. For this reason, after a new installation, always save some for repairs.
Tears and loose edges are part of normal household wear and tear. A simple tear can be reglued to be almost unnoticeable. Seams that have lifted also can be reglued. Wallcovering stores sell mending kits that include contact cement and wood rollers to press the repair back down.
To reglue loose edges, moisten the area and lift the wallpaper away from the wall. Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the back of the loose paper, press it back into place, roll it, and then sponge off any extra adhesive.
Where repair is not possible—as in the case of a damaged section or a section that has become dirtier than you can tolerate (most contemporary wallpaper is washable, but older papers may not be; to test if your wallpaper is, sponge down a small section in an inconspicuous area with a mild detergent in water)—the only solution is to patch or replace the damaged or offending section of wallpaper. Usually, bath robes are worn before taking a shower to cover the body or after taking a shower to dry off the water. Bath robes are mostly found in cotton fabric which makes it more comfortable. But now it has become a fashion and more trendy style with elegant looks are becoming popular. They come in more variety of fabric like the terry and micro terry bathrobes, velour, waffle, microfiber, cotton, Turkish cotton or cotton and polyesters combination, polyester fabrics, fleece, 100% organic cotton, bamboo and the latest fashion incorporates the silk bathrobes. The silk bathrobe lacks the absorbing quality so it is merely used to cover the body and used as a secondary garment to cover the sleeping clothes.
With the huge variety offered in the market it is obvious to get confused while making a choice of bathrobe the bath robe should be of soft material which absorption of water and feels smooth to the skin. It should not be clingy and the person should feel comfortable and fresh in spite of the wrap. Always look for the style, fabric and colors of the robes while buying as Even the style meets the different purpose and demands of the buyer like the kimono style robes, shower wraps, ballerina style robe, spa robes, hooded robes, and beach wraps. Well, here are different bathrobes that may suit your needs: (more…)

For a long time I have been dreaming of owning a house that I can call mine. That is the very reason I choose to depart from wifey to get the right job that will pay me sufficient salary. With the right job, I’m sure I can apply for home loans. Honestly, I can apply for it now. But, I’m just hesitant because I don’t have a stable job and income even if I am earning sufficiently. I don’t want my investment to go to waste should my earnings goes down.
Anyway, the possibility of getting a stable job is higher this time because I can see a lot of opportunities. That’s why I’m checking for home loan deal. Fortunately, I came across Resi. It is a real estate website that delivers fantastic home loans throughout Australia. It is a long established, multi-award winning, home loan and home mortgage specialist. They can help the first time buyers like me in choosing the right and great home mortgage that suits the budget. They offer competitive home loan rates and flexible options suit most situations.
Well, I’ll keep this on visiting this place. I’m sure I can make good use of it when the right time comes. For now, I will have to concentrate on job hunting so wifey can follow immediately.

It’s been debated that it’s the computer monitor that’s hurting our eyes, and that typing can have negative effects on our bones and mobility, but recent figures show that it’s what we can’t see that hurts us the most. Computer equipment, such as monitors, wires and other gadgets, is responsible for 78,000 visits to the ER room over a period of 12 years, figures cited by WebMD reveal.
Researchers from the Center for Injury Research and Policy, the Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, and the Ohio State University College of Medicine reveal in the July 2009 issue of the American Journal of Preventive Medicine that, from what numbers say, people simply don’t see the computer equipment they have in their homes because it has become such an integral part of their lives. Consequently, they trip over it or otherwise hurt themselves, which in itself is something that should be further investigated because of the whopping 732% increase registered in recent years.
Speaking strictly numbers, “58.9% of injuries involved moving the computer or a component. Also, 15.4% of injuries were related to fixing, installing, or plugging in a computer, and 6.7% to using one. The most common diagnosis in all age groups was laceration – 58.4% to the extremities and 41.3% to the head. Contusions and abrasions were the second most common injury.” WebMD further says. (more…)
